First snow of winter 2011

I awoke this morning to the crisp cold air of winter. Then as I made my way to the back door to let snickers and Molly out I was greeted with the beautiful sight of the first blanket of snow for winter of 2011. Now yes I did say beautiful blanket of snow, this does NOT mean I like winter or the cold, I can think it beautiful and still not like it. =) That said enjoy the pictures.

Union Station

I had so much fun taking the kids to Union Station on Saturday. It was so cute to see them running around the trains. With all the things to see there though its the toy train village that gets them evry time.

Science Fun

Getting new "toys" in the mail every month makes it seem like Christmas all the time. Yesterday in the mail we recieved our new science kit. Magnifying glasses, goo tuubes, water tubes and the inevitable bugs along with some new magnetic puzzles, what fun. It makes learning so fun and enjoyable, why can't it always be like this.

Visiting Dad

Well I was off and running Christmas day. First thing in the morning I was playing with the kids, then by noon I was at the airport and on my way to St. Petersburg Florida. I wish I could say it was for vacation but unfortunately I was going to see my dad for the last time. I wish I could also say that it was nice warm weather, but again that conspired against me to, it never went above 50 degrees and was as low as 10 degrees. Whats up with that huh? The day I left though it rose to a wonderful 75 degrees, again whats up with that? I had a nice visit with my Uncle Paul and Aunt Bettie, I met my dads new wife Linda and she is such a wonderful lady, then of course theirs my dad. I really enjoyed my time with him, my only regret is that I didn't get to stay longer. The plane trip home was beyond miserable. I was bumped from my flight and seat 3 different times. After spending 16 hours in airports or airplanes I finally arrived home at 11:20 pm, hurting, tired and hungry. I chose a hot shower and a warm bed over food. I had Linda take a picture of me with my dad, I looked absolutely stoned but I was actually beyond tired. I had been up for about 36 hours when it was taken. Its the only one I could get my dad to take so it will have to do.
