Oh the weather outside is delightful. Let it be warm let it be warm let it be warm. Yes I am loving and the children are loving the warm outdoors. OH YAYA.

You have asked for more science and technology and I have listened. Although I am an "unplugged" childcare I can still offer technology by way of discovery through S.T.E.M  which stand for Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics. By offering S. T. E . M through discovery this allows your child to create, imagine reason out and think what if? can it? how did it? All this while engaging their whole body into the learning process.

This year I have found a new company to order from and a guy who makes thinks for me and on my list of thing coming are.... a wind tunnel, wooden ramps stands and balls, tubes, coconut husks, corn husks and a new water table by the end of the summer so we can have a better indoor water experience in the winter.

Now I know I have A LOT of really smart parents so if any of you have ideas on what we can add or a project we can do, or a design I can help indirectly lead the children towards please let me know. The S T E M system is new to me and I am learning as I go but it really looks awesome and fun and engaging so you know I am all for that.

Passing on information

I have been asked several times for the links on the different classes around town or if a class is being held so I thought I would just go ahead and place the links of where the classes are held. I think it is just great that everyone is so interested in these classes.  http://daviscountyutah.gov/health/communicable_disease/education_prevention/default.cfm this is from the Davis county health dept. http://healthyrelationshipsutah.org/htm/davis-county/  and this is one of my favorites, this is where you can take the Love and Logic class. Then just because I can I am adding a special link I want you to check out this site. http://ellynsatterinstitute.org/

Math Is Everywhere. We Use It Everyday.

Do you remember back when you were in school and you and your friends would be complaining about math? I'm sure you were all saying, "I don't know why we have to learn algebra, it's not we are ever going to have use this anyway?", or the ever favorite, "I am never going to make my kid do this crap".
Well that time is here and unfortunately your child must do math but we can make it fun and help them not feel overwhelmed. And let's face the real truth here, it will also be baby steps in helping you not feel so overwhelmed at the thought of having to help your child learn math.
childcareinfo.com/blog?category=Parents is a great information blog and resource that gives you great ideas to help you in everyday situation to help you teach your child about math. This can be from identifying patterns, to naming shapes, and recognizing numbers. Math is literally everywhere around us and we use it all the time every minute of everyday. When at the grocery store start looking at numbers and pounds adding and subtracting. Look for shapes and patters and I assure that soon you and your child will soon be on the fast track to fun days enjoying learning math and all the joy you can have with it.
